The Falkirk Wheel

Falkirk Wheel – a unique boat lift, which is in Scotland. It combines two channels: Union and Force-and-Clyde. The unusual name derives from the design of its shape. The structure consists of a 100-meter axis located at the center, and two architectural elements that resemble the outlines Celtic double ax. In operation, the wheel moves the court between the channels, raising and lowering the two containers filled with water. In 2003, the building was named best original work in the field of design.
